Mourning wreath set on fire at a Jewish memorial

Gehrden - Policemen noticed Sunday morning at 7:15 am that someone had set on fire a funeral wreath. The funeral wreath was attached to a Jewish plaque on Steinweg (pedestrian area) in Gehrden. The police are looking for witnesses.

According to current information, the police assume that the memorial wreath was set on fire by unknown persons in the period between Saturday, 15 o'clock, and Sunday, 7.15 o'clock.

The police have taken up the investigation and ask witnesses who can give evidence of what happened or the perpetrators, to report to the Kriminaldauerdienst in Hanover on the phone number 0511-109 5555.
