Mr Estrosi denounced "these intolerable acts", saying that he could not tolerate someone entering a school and making such comments.
He praised the professionalism of the agents and the coolness and courage of the guardian.

The individual was arrested a little later at his home and placed in custody.

This attempt to intrude occurred against the backdrop of a rise in antisemitism in Europe.

In the wake of a deadly attack in front of a synagogue in the German city of Halle, journalist Gnaan Liphshiz, Europe correspondent for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, reported that "German and European Jews generally feel less and less secure. And that the atmosphere of antisemitic violence drove them to flee the continent.
