Apple’s Siri says Israeli president is ‘President of the Zionist occupation state’

After the story broke on social media, angering many people in the process, it was understood that Rivlin’s English Wikipedia page was hacked which caused the unpleasant malfunction.

Siri is a built-in “intelligent assistant” application that enables users of Apple devices to voice commands to the app in order to perform a string of tasks.

When Siri is asked about a public figure, the answer is usually extracted from the person's Wikipedia page.

Hebrew-language broadcaster Channel 12 reported that at 5:28 pm (EST time) on Saturday, an anonymous user named “The Arab Man” hacked into Rivlin’s Wikipedia page and edited his description, thus, causing the error on Siri.

According to the report, it took several minutes to fix the description of the Israeli president, but not before a few more mistakes were made, such as depicting him as “the main child of Israel.”
