Rockville, MD — Swastikas and derogatory epithets were spray-painted early Saturday morning on a Rockville synagogue, according to authorities.

Montgomery County police say they are investigating the hate-based vandalism, which is believed to have taken place at Tikvat Israel Congregation shortly before 1:30 a.m. On Wednesday, authorities released surveillance video of the incident in hopes that the public can help identify the suspect.

The video appears to show an individual pulling into the synagogue's parking lot and spray painting one of the exterior walls.

Tikvat Israel Congregation is located at 2200 Baltimore Rd.
