Bahia Blanca city council approved the IHRA definition of antisemitism
After the Argentine Republic, some provinces and cities approved it, today it was the BahÃa Blanca Deliberative Council that approved the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
The management was carried out by the Israelite Association of BahÃa Blanca, the subsidiary DAIA and the Bnei Brit of BahÃa
Before the vote, Councilor Gustavo Mandará, of the Front for Victory and Councilor Lucia Pendino for Change, spoke. The resolution was passed unanimously.
In addition, the authorities of the DAIA federal council, together with 6 Buenos Aires Jewish communities (Bahia, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Coronel Suárez, Tandil and Rivera) and their respective DAIA subsidiaries, presented the request for membership of the Buenos Aires legislature.
This request was made simultaneously to a senator from the ruling party and one from the opposition
Both of the sixth electoral section with the agreement of both to jointly motorize the initiative
The subsidiaries that made the request for membership are, in addition to that of Bahia Blanca; La Plata, Mar del Plata, Coronel Suárez, Tandil and Rivera
On May 26, 2016, the 31 IHRA member countries adopted the practical, legally non-binding definition of "antisemitism":
In addition to the Argentine Republic, Entre RÃos, Tucumán, Paraná, Buenos Aires, and Bahia Blanca have already joined. Mar del Plata presented the project.
