In Frankfurt, a stranger asks 46-year-old whether he is a Jew and attacks him with a knife

Frankfurt - A previously unknown perpetrator attacked a 46-year-old man with a knife on Friday evening in Frankfurt. The 46-year-old was not injured.

The 46-year-old man was on his way home when the stranger approached him at 8:05 p.m. in Fischbacher Strasse. The stranger was on a Deutsche Bahn rental bike and probably spoke Hungarian. When the 46-year-old turned to him, the man spoke to him again in German and asked the victim if he was a Jew. The stranger held a kitchen knife in his hand.

Without warning, he made a cutting move towards the 46-year-old, who was able to avoid the attack and remained unharmed. The attacker escaped by bike towards Idsteiner Strasse. The police search was unsuccessful.

The criminal investigation department has launched an investigation into suspected dangerous assault. State security is investigating the alleged antisemitic background.

The perpetrator is described as follows: male, approx. 35 years old, approx. 1.90 meters tall, Central European appearance, dark blonde hair, strictly gelled backwards and fixed with a hair clip. He probably spoke Hungarian, was dressed in a gray-blue T-shirt and jeans, and rode a Deutsche Bahn rental bike.
