Giant neon Swastika sprayed on car in Kingswood

Kingswood, Bristol - A Jewish man has spoken of his upset and anxiety after a huge neon Swastika was sprayed on a car opposite where he lives.

Nick Bayne said he was 'absolutely shocked' when he saw the 'giant symbol of hate' on the vehicle on Waters Road, Kingswood.

Mr Bayne said: "It's awful, it's a gut punch. Me and my wife, who is the granddaughter of Holocaust survivor, feel anxious about this - it was right next door to where we live.

"We used to feel it was quite a safe neighbourhood. It has put us on edge."

Mr Bayne worries the racist vandalism is sign of growing tensions around the city, and country.

He said: "It's a sign that people are starting to feel empowered enough to do something like this," said Nick. "It's absolutely shocking - a giant symbol of hate.

"There's far more hatred, far more selfishness, and a swing towards nationalism."

The incident has been reported to Avon and Somerset Police.
