Antisemitic stickers at German football

Kaiserslautern - The third division football team 1. FC Kaiserslautern objected to the distribution of stickers with racist and discriminatory antisemitic content and addressed an open letter to its fans.

"We will not tolerate such slogans and will act against it with all severity," the club chairman wrote on behalf of the honorary council, supervisory board, executive committee, advisory committee, management and fan advisory committee. The club has already filed a criminal complaint.

The trigger was "because stickers with clearly antisemitic, homophobic and nationalist images and slogans are distributed, containing reference to 1. FC Kaiserslautern through the use of our club logo," as the letter states. The rival from the third league next Sunday (14:00), 1. FC Cerbroken, is slandered with stickers.

Although it is clear to all responsible, "that often it is a little more emotional among football fans, anti-Semitism, racism and homophobia are crossing a line. Anyone who distributes these stickers contradicts everything our association has stood for for over 100 years."

The club therefore hopes "that Red Devils fans will distance themselves from such content and make it clear that there is no room for hatred and exclusion.
