Woodcliff Lake teens admit to antisemitic vandalism, say they got caught up in mischief night

Two borough teenagers have admitted defacing a street in Woodcliff Lake with antisemitic graffiti over the weekend.

Woodcliff Lake police said the investigation concluded Tuesday afternoon, and both teens admitted responsibility. They are "remorseful for their actions and expressed that they got caught up in the mayhem of mischief night, [that] this was not done out of any hate, just out of stupidity and poor judgment," police said.

The vandalism took place on Halloween weekend, when a swastika and vulgar images were etched in chalk on Woodmont Drive.

The individuals are being disciplined by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Anti-Bias Unit.
