A Jewish family from Aubervilliers attacked during Hanouka

Aubervilliers, Paris
- Four people, including two minors, were taken into custody after assaulting and insulting a Jewish family in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis) on Thursday evening, in the middle of the Hanukkah.

At approximately 8:40 pm Thursday evening, this family with several children was in a car when they were attacked by a "group of individuals", while the vehicle was playing "music and messages of peace in Hebrew" on the occasion of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, said this source. The four individuals uttered "Fuck the Jews", before "shaking the car and throwing glass bottles on the body".

Two adults in an irregular situation and two minors were placed in police custody for insults of an antisemitic nature and violence without days of ITT, indicates the Bobigny prosecutor's office. On Twitter, the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin indicated that this family had been attacked “because they were Jewish” and that the perpetrators “should be punished according to the gravity of these facts”.
