Nazi symbols on the Jewish Memorial in Częstochowa

- The monument commemorating the victims of the Częstochowa ghetto was devastated. Unknown perpetrators painted Nazi symbols on the monument. Painted, among others swastika and SS sign, as well as the number 1488 having Nazi symbolism.

Neo-Nazis use the number 88 as a code to represent the slogan "Heil" Hitler. The number 88 is often used in combination with the number 14 (e.g. 1488 or 14/88). In this context, the number fourteen stands for Fourteen Words, which is a famous neo-Nazi slogan created by sentenced terrorist David Lane ("We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children").

The names of Jurgen Graf and Ursula Haverbeck, writers who deny the Holocaust, are also inscribed on the monument.
