Lazio supporters hang antisemitic Jose Mourinho banner ahead of Roma fixture

- Lazio supporters have hung an antisemitic banner aimed at Jose Mourinho on a motorway ahead of their match against bitter cross-city rivals Roma on Saturday.

Just over a week after he was sacked by Tottenham it was announced earlier this month that Mourinho is to become Roma manager from next season, with the Portuguese boss replacing the outgoing Paulo Fonseca.

And a group of Lazio fans made an antisemitic reference towards the 58-year-old with a sign which was which hung on a motorway in the Corso Francia zone of the northern part of Rome ahead of Saturday evening's kick-off.

It read: "Yesterday Spurs, today AS Roma... Tomorrow Maccabi".

All three of the clubs mentioned have traditional links to Judaism, and the remark was clearly meant in a derogatory manner.
The banner was taken down almost immediately, but not before pictures of it had been taken and shared on social media.
