Ukraine - Vandals unearthed the grave of Holocaust victims in Ukraine

- Vandals have unearthed a mass grave site for Holocaust victims near the city of Rivne. About 17.5 thousand people are buried there.

The act of vandalism was carried out in the site where about 17.5 thousand victims of the Holocaust were buried. There they dug a hole more than 1.5 meters deep, numerous bones are visible.

According to the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, the police opened a case under the article of the Criminal Code "Abuse of the grave." Now they are looking for people involved in the crime. They could face a fine, arrest for up to six months, or imprisonment for up to three years.

The mass extermination of Jews near the city of Rivne took place on November 6 and 7, 1941. According to various sources, in those days the Nazis killed 17.5 to 21 thousand Jews there.
